Today reminded us about our favorite quote about the Camino: The Camino is not a hike; it is a chance to dip your toe into the river of life that is always flowing there. – Author Unkown.
Our walk started on boardwalks, then along a sandy path through a Reserva Ornitologica. After which we walked inland through beautiful little towns, along cobblestones paths, with quaint churches, hand painted tile signs, and lots of little cafes. We ended the day along the coast again at the resort town of A Ver O Mar

Since there was hardly any traffic, we’d walk along the center line, and little old ladies in the doorways would tell us to keep walking straight, wishing us a Bom Caminho!

It was a sunny but cool morning, perfect weather for a saunter!

The Camino is well signposted in this section, we just followed these signs through the towns.

And many of the cafe’s we passed offered a Pilgrim’s menu. This one is soup, plate of the day and coffee for only 5 euros. I guess you’d pay extra for the beer 😀

The beautiful center of the town of Vila do Conde

They keep the churches shut up tight! Such a shame that churches aren’t left open anymore like they used to.

That is a hand painted tile street sign! All the street signs in Vila do Conde were beautifully painted!

An eye-catching garden sculpture and flower pot!

Ok, remembered to smile on the third try 🤣. Never thought we’d be selfie stick travelers but they sure do come in handy!

Love the last stamp of the day at a fish restaurant in A Ver o Mar where we stopped for an espresso.
Thank you,brought back nice memories.
