Australia 2019/2020

As winter approached in Atlanta, we hightailed it to Australia to enjoy the summer Down Under. Getting there is no joke, entailing flights of five hours from Atlanta to Los Angeles and then fifteen hours to Sydney the next day. But we are hoping it will be well worth the trip because Australia — as a continent untouched by European settlers until the late 18th century — offers some of the most pristine and unusual natural environments to be found anywhere in the world.

The strangest thing though, was we completely missed out on Cyber Monday! We left Los Angeles on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and, fifteen hours later, arrived in Sydney on Tuesday morning, so Monday disappeared somewhere over the Pacific. We also restrained from availing ourselves of the WiFi on board, so no shopping online sales this year!

This is the third time we’ve used the homeopathic No Jet Lag pills, and with a +16 hour time difference between Atlanta and Sydney, we were very impressed with the way they worked. We had few jet lag symptoms, and adjusted very quickly to the new time zone.

  1. Sorry that you won’t see Sydney at its best. The fires are dreadful to the west of the city and have been a problem since September in NSW. Add the drought (3 years) ….. Despite this, I hope you have some interesting things planned and enjoy your time in here. Are you in Australia for Christmas? Coincidently, I was reading a sample of Ken’s Camino book on my Kindle this morning! Kind regards Judy Quintal

  2. Wasn’t aware of the homeopathic No Jet Lag pills.Going to see what I can find about them on the web. The lag always cuts into my time in Germany, and I’d love to reduce its impact. Thanks for mentioning it. If you have a link to share, I’d love to see it. Thanks again.

  3. We escaped to Tasmania where the air is fresh and the skies are blue! We’ll be in the Hobart area for Christmas. We were at the Sydney Camino group meeting recently, and enjoyed meeting fellow peregrinos. Hope you enjoy Ken’s book 🙂
